Loreda Sola – Chair Telecom Board Experience: Five years ago I was one of the founders of ECFiber (www.ecfiber.org), a coalition of towns with a mission to build municipally-owned FTTP network covering the least-served parts of 23 towns rural East-Central Vermont. I served as the Chair of the Governing Board for about 5 years, and was unanimously reelected 4 times before retiring from this position last November. I have substantial experience with analysis and development of telecom business plans, funding plans and operating plans. In addition I have substantial knowledge of telecom regulations at the State and Federal levels. As Chair I was repeatedly asked to provide testimony to several State Senate and House committees covering telecom issues. I maintained an active dialogue with the Vermont Telecom Authority Board and Executive Director, and participated in many VTA Broadband Committee meetings.
Professional Experience: Currently hold the position as Director of Software Development for Sharecare Clinical Informatics Division www.sharecare.com. (Formerly PKC) located at the Chase Mill in Burlington. I have been managing and developing software for over 30 years. I have been involved in software related to the Internet and Web applications since 1999. I have a deep understanding of most aspects Internet technology including telecom hardware and systems. Personal Background: My wife and I moved to Burlington 2 ½ years ago. Prior to this we lived in North Pomfret, VT for about 30 years. We have two sons ages 22 and 26 – raised at the end of a dirt road – who no longer live at home. My wife, Jan Salzman, is the Assistant Rabbi at Ohavi Zedeck Synagogue (http://www.ohavizedek.org ) located on Prospect St in Burlington.
